They say

You are The Great Maker

And that long before I was ever made

You made the shore, and it was the most expansive

But Your servant, King David - does not agree

He says the shore; expansive as it is

Is not as grand as Your Thoughts towards me

They say

You made the Sun, and it was the brightest

But The Great Apostle Paul does not agree

He says the sun, even at its brightest; at noon

Is not as radiant as Your Countenance

They say

You made the plants and all the vegetation

And gave them to us for our sustenance

But The Cross does not agree

The Cross says The Vine, is the only Life Eternal

They say

You made the animals too

And gave them to man for food

But The Great Prophet Jonah strongly disagrees;

He says at Your Word

He became food for the fish

And still, at that Word

The fish preserved him

And dropped him at his place of assignment

They say

You made the thunder, the lightning, the tempest

You made them the most mighty, boisterous, domineering

But Your servant, King David; disagrees yet again

He says Your Voice, splinters the mightiest cedars

And yet, he says; that same Voice

Blesses Your people with peace

The tempest moves at your Word

Searching out the most rebellious Prophets

The sea is not deep enough to hide your Chosen

Your Eyes roam the earth and everything below

The darkness, they say, is light to you

They also say

You made the greatest men

That ever walked this earth

But even The Great Prophet; Moses

Trembled with fear in Your Presence

He was a very meek man

What manner of Maker are You

That the sky, the sea, the sun

Captivating as they are

Do not even come close

In fact, they say

The storm and the winds obey You

Like every ardent student

In intense curiosity, I’m drawn in

I am drawn in

Like a child drawn to a flame

I hear That Great Prophet - Moses

He was drawn to The Fire that did not consume

I hear, that same flame morphed into a Fiery Pillar

And led Your people to the land You promised

I am drawn in

And the more I seek, the more I find

The more I find, the more I know

And the more I know, the more I thirst

The more I thirst, the more I am filled

I drink from The Vine

I drink of Your Blood

I hear Your Blood speaks a better Word

I partake of Your Flesh

I hear Your Flesh is healing to my bones

I also hear it puts to death, my own flesh

I drink from The Vine

And what Vine, but my King

And what King, but my Father

What Father, but my Friend

What Friend, but my Maker

And if You made the grandeur

Of all the beauty around me

There are no words to describe

The manner of great treasure

You have planted

In this earthen vessel.
